The scene from Tati's Playtime that struck me the most with regards to space is when Hulot is searching through the cubicles (or offices) for the man he is supposed to meet with. We are shown the layout of the space first from above, on the mezzanine. From this perspective its easy to see that the space isn't very large, so it should be easy for Hulot to find the man. But the simple grid proves to be daunting as the similarity between cubicles makes it easy for him to get lost.
I think the idea of similarity and repetition in this scene is interesting because it provides an example of how the efficiency and repetition of modernism can easily become just as confusing and messy and hard to navigate as I imagine a city like Lagos could be.
